Privacy Policy
AudioNest keeps your listening to yourself. Here is exactly what that means.

In short
We don’t collect your information. AudioNest has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your library, progress and listening history stay on your iPhone, and backups go to your own iCloud Drive, where we can’t see them. The only time anything reaches us is when you write to us.

What stays on your iPhone
Everything you create in AudioNest is stored on your iPhone, in storage only AudioNest can use:
- your library, collections and the book details you edit
- listening progress, bookmarks and notes
- listening history, statistics, goals and streaks
- your profile name and settings
- covers you choose, and audio you download or import
None of it is sent to us.

What we collect
Nothing, unless you write to us. AudioNest has no accounts and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. It doesn’t use your advertising identifier, and we don’t share or sell information to anyone.
If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. You can turn that off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

iCloud Backup
When iCloud Drive is available, AudioNest backs up your library, progress, history, profile and settings to your own iCloud Drive. Apple stores these backups under your Apple Account and its own privacy policy. We can’t access them.
Backups don’t include audio files or the key for your cloud service. You can turn backups off in Settings → Data & Backup, and see or delete them in the Files app under iCloud Drive → AudioNest → Backups.

Cloud services you connect
If you connect a cloud service to play audiobooks stored there, AudioNest talks to it directly from your iPhone. The key you enter is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain and sent only to that service. What the service receives is covered by its own privacy policy.
Disconnecting the service removes the key from AudioNest.

Book covers and details
To find covers, descriptions, series and narrators, AudioNest looks books up in public catalogs, such as Open Library, Google Books and the Internet Archive. It sends only what the lookup needs, like a title, an author or a book number. As with any website your iPhone visits, these services can see your internet address. They never receive your library, progress or history.
Free audiobooks you browse or download come from the Internet Archive.

Apple Intelligence
When AudioNest uses Apple Intelligence, for example to tidy messy chapter names, it runs entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us.

Photos and files
When you choose a photo for a cover, AudioNest receives only that photo, never the rest of your library. It opens files only when you pick them, to import audio or restore a backup. It doesn’t use your camera, microphone, location or contacts.

Diagnostics you share
The Diagnostics page stays on your iPhone. If you choose to share a report from it, you decide where it goes, and keys and access tokens are removed from it first.

When you contact us
If you send a message with Contact Us, we receive your message and its topic, the email address you give, your name if you add it and, when Include App Details is on, your AudioNest and iOS versions. Nothing from your library is included.
Your message passes through Cloudflare, which runs our message relay, and Mailjet, which delivers it to our inbox. We use it only to reply to you. We don’t add you to any list or share your message, and we’ll delete it if you ask.

Purchases
If you buy anything in AudioNest, Apple handles the payment. We never see your card or Apple Account details.

Children
AudioNest isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. If a child has written to us, a parent or guardian can ask us to delete the message.

Your choices
- Erase everything: Settings → Data & Backup → Delete Profile & Start Over, or delete the app.
- Turn off or delete backups: Settings → Data & Backup, or the Files app under iCloud Drive → AudioNest.
- Disconnect a cloud service: Settings → Library Sources.
- Delete a message you sent us: just ask.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal information a company holds about you. The only information we hold is messages you’ve sent us, and we’ll help with any request about them.

Security
Your data is protected by your iPhone’s own security, and your cloud service key is kept in the Keychain. Book lookups and Contact Us messages travel over encrypted connections.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it, and big changes will be mentioned in What’s New in the app. If AudioNest ever needs to collect something new, this policy will say so first.
